Welcome To Young Graves

As a parent, all we want for our children is their happiness, and well being. One of my twin daughters was diagnosed on October 27, 2008, with Hyperthyroidism, and diagnosed on October 31, 2008, with Graves disease, (an Autoimmune disease.) As her mom, I wanted to find out all I could on both disorders, but was having a hard time doing so. I had to dig and almost beg people for help. I just wanted to help my baby, and I didn't think that was a lot to ask. Because of this I decided to create my own site, so parents like myself, can find the information about their child's disease easily.

Autoimmune Disease

Autoimmune disease, is an illness that occurs when our body's tissues are attacked by its own immune system; therefore, patients with autoimmune diseases frequently have unusual antibodies circulating in their blood that target their own body tissues. Autoimmune diseases are rare compared to other medical conditions, but they affect more than 8 million Americans.
